Survivor Connections is a peer-led community made up of people with lived experience of all types of modern slavery. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of intersectional experiences. Together, we aim to create an empowering space where survivors can connect, lead, heal and drive meaningful change.
Our purpose is to bring survivors together as a community and provide intentional peer support, walking alongside people on their journeys of recovery. Through connection and solidarity, we aim to reduce isolation and offer hope. We also support survivors to reclaim their voices and share their lived experience to help strengthen Australia’s response to modern slavery.
Our vision is a thriving survivor movement in Australia, where people with lived experience of modern slavery are recognised as leaders contributing to anti-slavery efforts. We envision a society with greater awareness of how and where exploitation occurs, where perpetrators are held accountable and prevented from causing further harm, and where survivors are supported to reclaim their functional autonomy and rebuild their lives.
